In association with the Franklin Mint, Toshi Yoshida produced the well known ‘Birds of the Seasons‘, ‘The Friendly Garden‘ and ‘The Flowers and Birds of the Oriental Year‘ series of woodblock prints.
He also produced a lessor known series (possibly only available in Japan) in conjunction with Imperial Enterprises, a company working with the same business model as the Franklin Mint, selling products via newspaper advertising, late night TV and so forth.
The four woodblock prints published by Imperial Enterprises are shown below. The prints are all pencil signed in the right hand bottom margin and measure approximately 32cm x 52cm. Each print came with a information booklet. I don’t have any knowledge about the series name or print titles. If anyone has any information on these prints I’d be grateful to hear from them.
